A new study from Oregon State University demonstrates that high-fat and high-sugar diets cause changes in gut bacteria that lead to a significant loss of “cognitive flexibility” — the ability to adapt and adjust to changing situations.
These results suggest that changes in the microbiome from eating a Western diet may contribute to cognitive disease.
